Sanctuary Botanicals officially began in 1997 from my desire to have chemical-free products, using pure & natural ingredients.
I began formulating natural products after not easily finding effective products that din't contain a plethora of nasty chemicals. Knew it didn’t need to be complicated… put in great ingredients, leave out unnecessary & harmful ingredients.
I really didn’t intend to start a business... I just wanted to have quality products made from quality ingredients. I found other people who wanted products like these as well, so I began to make more... lots more.
I continue to create, using traditional herbal knowledge & natural ingredients, & provide education on health & wellness related to natural, chemical-free living. I have 15 years of herbal study & apprenticeship and I presently offer workshops locally & speak at conferences.
SANCTUARY BOTANICALS’ products:
Everything is manufactured by hand. We make small batches frequently & guarantee that your products arrive to you with full potency & absolute freshness. We use quality control procedures & hygenic manufacturing methods in our home-based production facility (smoke & pet-free).
NO BAD STUFF - No preservatives, artificial colors, artificial fragrances, foaming agents, petroleum-derived ingredients, formaldehyde releasing by-products, solvents, over processed (refined) ingredients. No testing on animals, no animal products or by-products (except beeswax). For more information about our ingredients please see our "INGREDIENTS" page.
HONESTY & INTEGRITY: We've signed the “Truth In Labelling Pledge” with the Natural Ingredients Resource Center & are on PETA's “No Animal Testing” list. We don't claim our products will perform miracles. We simply create high quality, chemical-free, effective products. We use everything that we make ourselves.
LIFE ON A SHELF: Our products retain their high quality for approximately 6 months from the time you receive them (aka their “shelf life”). Our products don’t have forever shelf lives, but do have a reasonable shelf life given the purity of the ingredients. Since our products do not contain chemical preservatives, please ensure that water/ bacteria does not enter the product containers. Q-tips are great applicators re: Face Moisturizer & Eye Butter. Products keep best in cool, dark conditions, in other words, not on a hot, sunny window ledge or near heat sources.
Product information, important to note: People can have sensitivities to anything. Due to this fact, we cannot control whether an individual will have an allergic reaction to any of our products. If you do experience an allergic reaction, discontinue use of the product immediately. If you are uncertain of particular ingredients (all ingredients are listed for every product) do a patch test* the first time you use a product. If any adverse reaction occurs, discontinue use immediately. Our products are for external use only. No medical claims are implied & the information herein is not intended be used for self-diagnosis or self-treatment of any condition.
*Patch Test - Apply a small amount of the product to clean skin on the inside of your elbow. Cover with a bandage & leave for 24 hours. If a rash or redness appears, do not use the product. If any product get into your eyes, flush with water immediately. If any irritation occurs, consult a health professional. Do not take products internally.
