Botanicals the business:
Sanctuary Botanicals is a merging of paths – caring for
our health & insistence on chemical-free product purity, wise guidance
of Nature – ever present in its many forms and our customers who love
(and say they won’t go without) our products.
We have been formulating and manufacturing health, face and body care
products for more than 10 years. Initially, frustrated with not easily
finding products without chemicals…(avid label
readers) we created the Hemp Lip Balm. We wanted something
that made our lips heal when they hurt, a therapeutic healing herbal
balm, minus the chemicals. We knew it didn’t need to be complicated…
put in beneficial ingredients, leave out unnecessary ingredients.
We didn’t intend to start a business, we just wanted to have top quality
products made from top quality ingredients. What we found was that other
people wanted products like these as well. We now have a head to toe product
line with even more great products awaiting their leap to life.

Botanicals’ founder, product formulator & manufacturer:
Aeriol Liera, the founder
of Sanctuary Botanicals began the company in 1997. The company grew from
her desire and motivation to develop chemical-free health, face and body
care products using natural ingredients (vs commonly used synthetics).
A skilled herbalist with over 10 years of herbal study and apprenticeship,
Aeriol offers workshops and seminars locally and speaks at international
industry conferences.
My goal is to continue creating, using time-tested
herbal and other natural ingredients, premium quality health, skin and
body care products and to provide education on health and wellness related
to natural, chemical-free living.

Sanctuary Botanicals’ products:
Our products are manufactured in artisanal style - by hand.
We make small batch lots of products frequently (usually weekly) and guarantee
that your products arrive to you with full potency and absolute freshness.
We use applicable quality control procedures and hygenic lab-type manufacturing
methods in our in-home production facility.
No
synthetics - no preservatives, artificial colors,
artificial fragrances, emulsifiers, foaming agents, petroleum-derived
ingredients, coal tar, formaldehyde releasing by-products, solvents, over
processed (refined) ingredients, ingredients subjected to extreme heat,
cosmeceutical or inexpensive cosmetic-grade ingredients, no testing on
animals, no animal products or by-products (except beeswax) in any Sanctuary
Botanicals’ products.
Honesty
& Integrity: we have signed the “Truth In Labelling
Pledge” with the Natural Ingredients Resource Center
and are on PETA's “No Animal Testing” list. We aren’t
here to make false claims or promise our products will perform miracles.
We simply want to supply top quality, chemical-free, effective products.
Life on a shelf: Sanctuary Botanicals products
will retain their high quality for approximately 6 months from the time
you receive them – aka their “shelf life.” Our products don’t have forever
shelf lives, but do have a reasonable shelf life given the purity of the
ingredients. Since our products do not contain chemical preservatives,
please ensure that water/ bacteria does not enter product containers.
Q-tips are great applicators re: Face Oil, and Eye Butter. Products keep
best in cool, dark conditions, in other words, not on a hot, sunny window
ledge or other heat source.
Product information, important
to note: People can have sensitivities to anything. Due to this fact,
we cannot control whether an individual will have an allergic reaction
to any of our products. If you do experience an allergic reaction, discontinue
use of the product immediately. If you are uncertain of particular ingredients
(all ingredients are listed for every product) do a patch test* the first
time you use a product. If any adverse reaction occurs, discontinue use
immediately. Our products are for external use only. No medical claims
are implied and the information herein is not intended be used for self-diagnosis
or self-treatment of any condition.
*Patch Test - Apply a small amount of the product to clean skin on the
inside of your elbow. Cover with a bandage and leave for 24 hours. If
a rash or redness appears, do not use the product. If any product get
into your eyes, flush with water immediately. If any irritation occurs,
consult a physician immediately. Do not take products internally.
